QVillager appeared three times in one week in Osaka around Global Startup EXPO 2026 (GSE2026): a quantum deep tech showcase on 5 October, a booth at Expo Days on 6 and 7 October, and the official side event QVLeap 2026 on 10 October.
Under the theme ‘Deep tech, with the world, into industry’, GSE2026 brings together startups, companies, universities and research institutions, investors, and public-sector organisations from Japan and abroad.
Expo Days centres on six fields: biotechnology and healthcare, quantum, fusion energy, space, AI and advanced robotics, and semiconductors and communications. Exhibitions, sessions, and matchmaking across them aim at deployment and industrialisation.
Selected as one of eight for the quantum deep tech showcase
On Monday 5 October, ahead of Expo Days, QVillager was selected as one of eight startups presenting at the Quantum Deep Tech Showcase & Business Matching, hosted by Osaka Prefecture (operated by the Osaka Business Development Agency) with Osaka University's Center for Quantum Information and Quantum Biology as co-host. It was an official GSE2026 side event.
The eight were QuEL, JIJ, OptQC, TopoLogic, Qubitcore, QunaSys, LQUOM, and QVillager. Between them they cover control electronics for quantum computers, photonic quantum computing, quantum communication, topological materials, distributed quantum computing, and mathematical optimisation, each working a different layer of the field.
QVillager spoke about establishing what people can do through practical challenges, and about research into search and verification with quantum AI.

Three themes on the C-21 booth wall
On Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 October, QVillager exhibited as a startup in the quantum field at booth C-21 in the Knowledge Capital Congrès Convention Center, in Osaka's Umekita district.
The C-21 booth set out three things side by side: finding what people can actually do, connecting learning to practice, and exploring new applications of quantum AI.
Each maps to one area of our work. QVArena establishes capability from the work itself rather than from a CV. QVExplore and QVLeap make a first encounter with quantum possible. Joint research in quantum AI widens a set of candidates, narrows it, and tests what survives.
A second panel started from questions instead: whether quantum capability is being judged on a CV alone, how to create a first encounter with quantum inside a company or a university, and what to do when there are too many options and constraints to pick something to try. Visitors were invited to work through their own version of those at the booth.
QVArena at the centre of the exhibition
QVArena is a platform that brings submissions, evaluation, and capability profiles into one flow, grounded in how people approach practical challenges.
It records more than whether someone reached the right answer. The work itself shows how they understood and formulated the problem, chose and implemented a method, and validated and explained the result.
What a person or team can actually do is hard to see from a CV, a title, or a self-report. We are building a way to accumulate it as evidence of capability, through code, outputs, and explanations. That evidence can inform development, selection, hiring, team formation, and collaboration with external specialists.
Current challenges draw on real problems including logistics optimisation, portfolio optimisation, factory scheduling, disaster preparedness and response, Quantum AI, and migration planning for post-quantum cryptography.
QVExplore was also on show
QVExplore lets visitors explore the world of quantum technology that QVillager is working on through an interactive interface.
Where QVArena is a product for practising and demonstrating capability, QVExplore is an entrance for discovering and engaging with quantum technology.
QVillager is building products that go beyond knowing about quantum technology: products for touching it, tackling challenges with it, and carrying the resulting work into the next opportunity.
Through the QVArena-centred exhibition at GSE2026, we set out to discuss with companies, research institutions, startups, investors, and visitors from around the world how evidence created through practice can support development, hiring, project formation, and collaborative research.
The question is how to keep technology from ending as technology alone, and how to connect the capability of the people and teams who work with it to real work and opportunity.
Official GSE2026 side event: QVLeap 2026
After GSE2026, QVillager held QVLeap 2026 at QUINTBRIDGE on Saturday 10 October as an official side event. Read the event report for highlights from the day.
This ideathon starts from societal challenges. Teams consider where quantum computing, quantum communication, and quantum sensing could be applied, then examine the possibilities and their current readiness together with quantum researchers.
Event details
GSE2026 ran from Monday 5 to Wednesday 7 October 2026. QVillager exhibited during Expo Days on 6 and 7 October.
